Al Hilal seal King’s Cup title beats Al Nassr 5-4 on penalties to seal King’s Cup title as Ronaldo misses out on silverware

Al Hilal won the King Cup of Champions after beating Al Nassr 5-4 on penalties in the final at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. Al Hilal secured its third title of the season after winning the Saudi Super Cup and the Saudi Pro League.

Sadio Mane missed a chance in the first half, while Aleksander Mitrovic headed in a cross from Malcom in the second half. Despite being down to nine men due to two red cards and a long throw-in, Al Hassan
and Nasser Al Dawsari scored in extra time to force penalties.

Yassine Bounou saved all three penalties, with Ruben Neves and Alex Telles missing the opening penalties, while Ronaldo missed the last one. Al Nassar goalkeeper David Ospina was sent off in the 56th minute for handling the ball outside his penalty area. Waleed Abdullah saved Saud Abdulhamid's penalty in sudden death, but Al Hassan saved Ali Al Hassan's penalty to keep his side's hopes alive.

Meshari Al-Nemer scored the last penalty to win the match. Ronaldo's bicycle attempt struck the right post in the 86th minute but his shot went wide.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr team lost the King's Cup final to Al-Hilal, ending their season without major silverware. They finished second in the Saudi Pro League season, but Ronaldo scored twice to set a new league record of 35 goals in a season. The game ended with two goals and three red cards, including goalkeeper David Ospina and Ali Al-Bulaihi. Both teams were reduced to 10 men. Ronaldo left the field in tears after the loss.
